just a twenty-something with a dream
When I started, I had no idea where I wanted this to go - and since then, every day has been an adventure.
As a full-time corporate girly, I've often struggled with scratching the creative itch at my 9-to-5. During the pandemic, I leaned fully into #BookTok and began devouring fantasy novels at an alarming speed. My imagination took off and I tried my hand at digital artwork on my iPad.
I'd seen the way other creative entrepreneurs launched their side hustles on social media and began to wonder if I could do the same thing for myself. What started with stickers - that I painstakingly made, one by one with my Cricut - has evolved into a diverse shop, filled with bookish things.
However, despite the advice from the internet telling me to stick to one niche, I felt compelled to expand the shop. The bookish community is filled with dreamers and creatives, those who want to feel special in the same way their books make them feel. But bookworms are also coffee drinkers and feminists; they listen to Taylor Swift and count the days until Spooky Season starts. And maybe, just as I had, those bookish girls are looking to start their own creative journeys.
Brearly & Co. will continue to evolve as I find new things that inspire me to creat. My hope for this shop is to bring all of those magical things to life -- for the mood readers, coffee drinkers, and restless creatives like me -- so you can celebrate and share the things you love with the world.

Why shop small?
We pride ourselves in how we source and produce our products. The majority of our designs are made to order, which is why it takes us a bit longer to deliver it to you.
For any products we can't make to order, production is limited to small batches, and always with quality materials.
Making products on demand instead of in bulk helps us reduce overproduction. We thank you for making thoughtful purchasing decisions by choosing to buy from us instead of the big box stores.
